Banana Thief: A missing banana triggers a day of chaos as Daniel’s new assistant, Lucas, battles roaches, suppositories, and fruit fight. Caring for a K-pop star is no piece of cake, or Banana.

Episode One: Banana Thief!

In the opening of the first episode, we’re introduced to Daniel’s high-rise, messy apartment, a sharp contrast to his glamorous K-pop persona. He watches his own music video, his eyes fixated on his performance. As he battles his growing hunger, the doorbell rings. Enter Lucas—a bright-eyed, naive young man, assigned as Daniel’s new sitter, or, assistant.Daniel’s confusion and lack of enthusiasm for Lucas is clear from the start. As Lucas cheerfully enters the messy apartment, he’s faced with Daniel’s obvious disdain, but Lucas keeps a positive attitude. There’s an immediate contrast between their personalities—Daniel’s rough exterior clashing with Lucas' upbeat nature.Lucas settles into his new room, but Daniel’s gaze lingers on one thing—Lucas' bright yellow bananas. Lucas proudly sets them on the dresser. As Lucas settles in, Daniel opens the fridge, revealing a few condiments and a box of suppositories. When Lucas enters, Daniel hurriedly tries to grab and hide the box of suppitories, but they fall to the floor as Lucas picks them up for Daniel who pretends they were for his "ex". Lucas, looking over the empty ice box, asks if he should go to the store tomarrow. Daniel says, yeah, "can't live on suppositories alone".As Lucas begins tidying up the messy kitchen, Lucas lets out a shriek and instinctively jumps into Daniel’s arms after seeing giant cockroaches scurrying about the dirty dishes in the sink. Daniel, embarrassed, says he hasn’t had help for a week. Lucas, still clinging to Daniel, quips that the roaches are too big to have appeared in just one week.Later that night, in a hilarious, scene, Daniel sneaks into Lucas' room to steal one of the bananas. Daniel is almost caught mid-banana stem snap, as Lucas shifts in bed. Daniel manages to steal the banana, only to lose the peel as he devours it in dark, silent shame.Lucas, in high spirits, wakes up to prepare for his first full day. After noticing one banana missing, he brushes it off and carries on, cheerfully making breakfast. As Daniel walks toward the kitchen, he slips on the missing banana peel, pulling his back out in the process. Cue Lucas' frantic reaction as he rushes to help Daniel while still trying to maintain his cheerful demeanor.Just as the chaos peaks, the doorbell rings. This time, it’s Jang, Daniel’s over-the-top father. His larger-than-life personality fills the apartment as he greets Lucas, referring to him as the "sitter." Lucas corrects him: "Assistant."Lucas is sent to the market for groceries and medicine for Daniel. What should be a simple trip turns into a chaotic ordeal, complete with a slapstick tug-of-war over a bag of apples between Lucas and an older woman. Lucas returns home, victorious but beaten up, with his hair tousled, a black eye, and a bag of apples in hand.Meanwhile, Daniel, now alone in the apartment, faces his most humiliating moment yet. In pain and unable to move properly, he tries to make it to the bathroom—only to fall short and soil himself.Lucas returns to find Daniel lying stuck on the bathroom floor with a giant cockroach on his face, which he kills with the bag of apples - along with poor Daniel's nose.Lucas immediately goes to work, medicating Daniel and ushering him into the bathroom for a sponge bath, and tender moment amidst the chaos.Daniel, feeling a bit better can now sit up in the living area, which is still quite messy. Lucas accidentally spills soup on Daniel, causing Daniel to lash out and call him an idiot.Hurt and embarrassed, Lucas storms out, calling Daniel a Banana thief.Daniel, realizing his mistake, goes after him.The episode’s most tender moment arrives as Daniel finds poor Lucas at a bus stop just outside the apartment with his luggage and dwindling buschel of bananas that night.Daniel, apologizes for his behavior, and asks for Lucas to come back. Lucas relents, having missed the last bus anyway. Lucas also reminds Daniel that he still owes him for the groceries, which makes Daniel laugh.Back in the apartment, the two sit and casually watch TV together, Daniel with an ice pack on his nose. The camera slowly zooms in on a floor vent, where a pair of beady eyes belonging to a mouse peek out, setting up the next episode: Episode 2, The Mouse. This episode blends physical humor, and character-driven comedy, all while introducing the emotional undercurrent of Daniel and Lucas' relationship.Humor is heightened through their clashing personalities and the chaos that ensues, but the episode is peppered with tender moments that hint at a growing friendship.
